What music lessons do you offer?
We offer lessons in singing, piano, violin, guitar, drums, flute, recorder, ukulele, saxophone and music theory. Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
Who can have music lessons?
Our lessons are open to children and adults of different ages and abilities from a complete beginner or anyone looking to develop existing skills.
What age can children start lessons?
Children can start lessons from the age of five.
Do you teach complete beginners?
Absolutely! You don’t need any previous experience. Whether you’re learning an instrument for the first time or developing your skills, we’d love to help you get started.
Do you teach music theory?
Yes, we offer music theory tuition up to Grade 5. Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
How long are lessons?
We offer 30-minute, 45-minute and 60-minute lessons. You can find our current prices on our pricing page.
Can I have a trial lesson?
Do I need to bring my own instrument?
This depends on the instrument and lesson. Please get in touch before buying or hiring an instrument if you’re unsure what you’ll need.
TEACHING AND SAFETY
Are your music teachers qualified?
Our music teachers are highly qualified and experienced musicians who are passionate about sharing their skills and helping students develop their musical abilities.
Are your teachers DBS checked?
Yes, our teachers are DBS checked as part of our commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment.
How do you select your music teachers?
We carefully vet our teachers to ensure they have the appropriate skills, experience and qualifications to deliver high-quality music tuition.
Is Music House a safe environment for children?
We want every student to feel safe, welcome and supported at Music House. Our music teachers are carefully vetted and DBS checked, and all our music teaching rooms have clear glass panels in the doors to provide visibility into the rooms.
Can parents or carers stay during lessons?
Yes most certainly. A parent of a young child can also be in the room during the lesson should they wish.
What support is available for children with additional needs?
We want everyone to feel welcome at Music House. Please let us know about any additional needs when enquiring so we can discuss the support and arrangements available.
BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS
How do I book music lessons?
Please get in touch and let us know which instrument you’re interested in, the student’s age and any previous experience. We’ll help you find out more about the available options.
Do you have spaces available?
Availability can change regularly. Please contact us with the instrument you’re interested in and your preferred days and times, and we’ll let you know what’s available.
How do I pay for lessons?
Payment details will be provided as part of your booking arrangements. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
Can I change my lesson time?
Please contact us to discuss changing your lesson time. Any changes will depend on tutor and room availability.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you’re unable to attend. Any missed-lesson arrangements will depend on Music House’s cancellation policy.
How do I cancel my lessons?
Please contact us directly to discuss cancelling your lessons. We’ll advise you on the notice period and any applicable cancellation arrangements.
