When we first introduced Lead the Change, we described it as a project designed to help young people find and use their voices.
Now, following months of creativity, collaboration and personal growth, we’ve seen exactly what can happen when young people are given the space and support to express themselves.
The project brought together young people from across Leeds for a series of workshops focused on confidence, creativity, music, spoken word and artist development. Participants wrote songs, created spoken-word pieces and explored new ways of sharing their experiences and perspectives.
Led by Paulette Morris and Christella Litras, with contributions from Chloë Hudson and Sitara Gayle, the programme encouraged participants to develop their creative skills while building confidence and connection.
A particular highlight was the opportunity to spend time in Music House’s recording studio and learn more about music production.
Lead the Change may have reached its conclusion, but its impact will continue long after the final performance.
